Quick check Both skates should be charged and powered on before every ride.

Step 02

Start Supported

Wear a helmet and protective gear. Lean on a friend or nearby table while you step onto the Zuums. Keep your knees soft and look ahead—not down at your feet.

Take your time Get comfortable standing still before you try to move.

Step 03

Center Your Feet

Place one foot flat and centered on each footpad. Keep your feet parallel and your weight even from left to right so both Zuums can respond together.

Before moving Make sure your shoes feel secure and nothing is covering the footpads.

Step 04

Find Neutral

Stand tall with relaxed knees and keep your hips centered over your feet. This is your neutral position: steady, balanced, and ready to move in either direction.

Eyes up Looking where you want to go makes balance much easier.

Step 05

Move Forward

Gently shift your whole body forward from the ankles. Use a small, controlled lean—do not bend sharply at the waist or stomp on your toes.

Start tiny A little lean creates movement. Return toward neutral to hold a comfortable speed.

Step 06

Slow Down

Shift your weight back gently while keeping your chest up and knees relaxed. Ease back toward neutral as the Zuums slow, then settle into a complete stop.

Stay smooth Sudden movements make balance harder. Practice stopping before adding speed.

Step 07

Sidestep™ Dismount

Come to a complete stop. Step one foot sideways onto the ground between the Zuums, then step off the second skate once you are stable.

Stay controlled Always stop completely before stepping off, and never dismount forward.

Step 08

Pushback

Pushback is an important safety feature. The Zuums gently push up when you are topping out at full speed or when the battery is low and needs to be charged.

Do not push through it Slow down immediately. If the battery is low, stop riding and charge both Zuums before continuing.

Step 09

Simple Dismount

Come to a complete stop beside a friend, table, or other stable support. Step one foot outward onto the ground, plant it firmly, then step off the second Zuum.

Stop first Never try to step off while the Zuums are still moving.
Calibration

Feel something off?

Calibration resets the balance reference for both Zuums. Power the skates off, place them upright on a firm, perfectly level surface, then follow the calibration instructions in your product manual. Do not stand on the Zuums while calibrating.
